3. Jägerbataillon 501, Böblingen
Germany considers Jäger as "Rangers" - light infantry specialized for assault and defense operations in rugged terrain, and urban warfare, generally similar to U.S. Army Rangers special forces troops.
Coat of arms of the unit on the front.
I don’t know if the Germans intended this connection, but there was a SS Jägerbataillon 501 in World War II. That unit was formed in February 1944 and fought the Red Army and the Polish Home Army (Warsaw Uprising) before being disbanded in September 1944.
“Made in West Germany” on the bottom.
Manufacturer’s "FS" in diamond on the side.
0.5L, 5” high, 3-7/8” diameter.
The lidded version goes for 99 Euro on eBay.
Great souvenir for you or as a farewell gift!
