Very solid Yakima roof rack system. This is the setup for someone who wants a seriously strong, permanent roof-rack mount, not something temporarily clamped around a door frame.
I originally installed it on my VW T4 and used it to carry a huge rooftop tent. Rock solid. The rack actually outlived the T4.
Important: The Yakima Landing Pad 1 system mounts to threaded inserts/nutserts (rivnuts) installed in the roof. That means drilling the roof and installing the inserts correctly. You have to be committed — but once installed, you have an extremely strong, clean mounting system and can remove the rack while leaving the low-profile mounting points in place.
Includes the crossbars, four Yakima towers, Landing Pad 1 hardware, box, and tool shown in the photos.
